“We are bundling several programmes for retail sale, including Star Office 7 and Java Desktop System, which will act as a complete suite — both an operating system and end-user applications. In effect Sun aims to give users the chance to replace Microsoft completely with a Linux-based operating system and office tools. It would be great to go shopping and see us in Carrefour up there besides Microsoft,” added Porter.
