Date: Saturday, December 17, 2005 @ 21:20:47 EST

Here are the latest patches just released for both UT2004 and Quake 4 for Linux.

Icculus has released an update to the UT2004 3369 patch. 3369.1 fixes the following from 3369:

  • Linux: Fixed large memory usage.
  • x86 Linux: Reenabled Pixomatic renderer ("PixoDrv").
  • Mac OS X: game will now run on Mac OS X 10.2.8 ("Jaguar") again.
  • Mac OS X: 3D audio now correctly spatializes, other OpenAL fixes.

You can grab the 3369.1 patch for Linux from treefort.icculus.org or 3dgamers.com.

TTimo has released version 1.0.6 of Quake 4 for Linux.

"The 1.0.6 installer for Linux is available. This goes with the 1.0.5 Windows release ( yeah it's all a bit confusing, there was a 1.0.5 Linux update before, but it's not the same as this 1.0.5 for Windows that was released today, it was really the same as 1.0.4 ).

Note that the Linux version doesn't support SMP acceleration at this time."

So unfortunately, we didn't get the big feature that Windows users did but I'm sure he's working on it as we speak. You can grab 1.0.6 for Linux from id Software's FTP server or id Software's BitTorrent tracker.
