NewsForge:

Last month CodeWeavers Inc. released version 4.2 of its WINE-based Windows binary compatibility application, three months after the previous release. If you've used CrossOver Office in the past, you won't see much different with the new version. Most of its enhancements and updates are internal, adding better support for more applications and some bug fixes in the installer and menu creation utility.

"While the original release allowed Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes to run on GNU/Linux, CrossOver Office now supports many more programs."

Oracle is bringing in the open source Eclipse development community to support its Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) 3.0 specification, and ease development of its own high-end Java-based products.

The specification supports the J2EE 5.0 standard and the tie in with the Eclipse Foundation will ease application development and improve developer productivity for Java-based applications, said Oracle.

? As the leader of the project, Oracle will help build an open source EJB 3.0 Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tool under the Eclipse Public License.

Salamu Alaykom

Thanks for those who attended the 4th meeting as It was very special one in which we decided to unify the distribution of our KLUG members.

In the 4th meeting, there was a live testing of Debian distribution as a desktop and there was an agreement to make it the "standard" distribution of KLUG group.

For more information about Debian, go to: http://www.debian.org

Inshallah, we see you in upcoming meetings.

"Ok,
? there it is. Only small stuff lately?  - as promised. Shortlog from -rc5
appended, nothing exciting there, mostly some fixes from various code
checkers (like fixed init sections, and some coverity tool finds).

So it's now _officially_ all bug-free."
