ATI have made available version 3.9.0 of their FGLRX drivers. The new version includes in particular two new features, first the explicit regparm support for newer Redhat, Fedora and SuSE kernels and second the VIA KT400 motherboard chipsets are now recognized properly. Linux 2.6.6 has been released, again there are tons of fixes, for example, the CIFS VFS, which can be used to mount windows or samba shares via the CIFS protocol, has seen lots of improvements and fixes since the last version. I don't usually release a new version every time I add a single chip but since I've had more than one request for this one I decided to go ahead. Along with the addition of the as99127f being supported, I also cleaned up some build issues many people were having. Thanks to Jean Delvare for some build fixes (automake/autoconf cleanups) and thanks to Kelly Anderson for the initial as99127f patch. download

This article will discuss the grsecurity patches available for the Linux kernel. Grsecurity is a suite of patches (distributed as a single patch file) for the Linux kernel that are an attempt to improve the security of a Linux system. Grsecurity is based on a port of some previous patches for the Linux 2.2 kernel, including Openwall and PaX, which have never been ported to the 2.4 kernel. Grsecurity provides some updates to these patches and has been ported to the Linux 2.4 kernel. continue
